Register for ALIS: Request to Speak!
The Arizona Legislative Information System, affectionally know as ALIS, allows you to legally testify at a legislative committee, from the comfort of your own home or office, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Once you are registered with the ALIS Request to Speak, you will be able to identify your position (for, against or neutral) and post comments that become a part of the public record. This is the miracle of the system. Many times hearings are postponed or changed at the last possible minute. There are few things more frustrating than to arrange a work absence or childcare in order to go all the way down to the capital to testify only to find out that the hearing was changed while you were driving there. This system allows you to follow a bill and post your comments in a manner that cannot be ignored because it is in the public record.
Initial registration must be done at the Capitol from an ALIS kiosk - if you are unable to travel to the Capitol and register yourself, do not worry! - let SOSAz register for you! Fill out the form below and you will be notified when you are registered.
The ALIS Video Tutorial will help you learn the system once you are registered.
Once registered, visit the ALIS website to begin using the system.
ALIS Registration
Only "username" and "password" are required to be able to access the ALIS system. However, it is highly reccommended that you also fill out your "name" and "city." Legislators have access to the information paired with the person who submitted a 'request to speak' and can be much more inclined to take to heart your view when it comes from "John" from "Phoenix," rather than just "username12345."
Please note that once registered, you will be able to change your password on the ALIS website so only you can access your account.
